A new generation of jazz musicians appeared, particularly fascinated by the music of the 50s to 60s. Here we present you an era of Quentin Li¨¦geois, Sam Gerstmans and Greg Houben. They will bring you music with a properly astounding genuineness.

Band members

Sam Gerstmans (Bass)

Born in 1978, Samuel comes from musicians' family. He begins the violin at the age of 6. He is studying, in an Academy, violin, trumpet, chamber music, instrumental group and history of music.

Then he begins to play the electric bass. At the age of 19, he is interested in Jazz. In 1998, he registers in the Royal Conservatory of Brussels, where he acquires his 1st price on electric bass (in June 2001).

He also participates in groups of Brazilian music and in theatricals plays such as "The Wild Party", "If it is sung it is lost", "Jesus Christ Superstar", ¡°Peter Pan¡±.

Quentin Li¨¦geois (Guitar)

Born in 1980, Quentin discovers the guitar at 6 by following a classical training in the musical workshops of the Conservatory of Li¨¨ge. He follows this training until the age of 14 years.

After Rock, he begins to be interested in Jazz. At 16, he registers in the Academy to improve its music theory and, he also registers in the Conservatory of Brussels where he will acquire his "first price".

He has already participated in numerous international festivals of Jazz such as Audi Jazz, Gaume Jazz Festival, Hanoï Festival, Tanger Jazz Festival, etc.

Greg Houben(Trumpet, Bugle, Vocal)

Born in 1978, his father is a musician, his mother works for theatre, therefore he has been born and bred in an artistic world.

At the age of 17, he leaves belgium to Brazil for a stay of one year which will take the form of an initiatory trip. Belo Horizonte, Sao Paolo and Rio charm and transform Greg. It is there that he decides to devote his body and soul for music.

From his return to Belgium, he wants to catch up and enters in the conservatory of Verviers where he learns the music theory, harmony, the piano and the trumpet.

Two years later, he goes, for one year, to the conservatory of Maastricht with Rob Bruinen as main professor.

During these years of study, he becomes friend with Quentin Li¨¦geois. They put their first quartet together with Samuel Gerstmans and Laurent Delchambre.

 

However, Greg Houben does not disavow the theatre and participates in numerous projects such as the "Wild party", "Sea Gull" and "O"an object theatrical creation of Agnes Limbos .

Steve Houben (Saxophone)

Reputed as the Treasure of Belgium, he is a well-known composer and commander. He is the leading figure of the new Belgium music. He has influenced the new generation of the Belgium musicians.
